   I like what Andrew Gelman said in this regard.

   “Correlation doesn’t imply causation, but it does waggle its eyebrows suggestively and gesture furtively while mouthing ‘look over there’.”

   Is that his quote? It is also the text that pops up in the comic if you hover your mouse over it.

   Hmm, probably not. I didn’t think to mouse over the comic.

   Gelman included the comic in his blog but he included the text separately. He put it in quotation marks, so maybe he was quoting the comic author. And maybe the comic author was quoting someone else.
