Mathematical holiday cookies at Starbucks

When I was in Starbucks the other day my eyes were drawn to the cookie display, for what did I see, but a row of cookies all decorated with \pi‘s! Upon closer inspection I discovered, to my disappointment, that it was not the Greek letter, but the red scarf of a polar bear.

(As Homer Simpson would say, “Mmmmmm,…. pi!”)

Oh, of course you would see “math” in a cookie :-). My new professors here in Art & Art History would have looked at the cookie and thought of the numerous other ways it could have been decorated. I would have just purchased it and carefully bit off it’s nose! Congrats on your nomination Dave!
