A week ago I mentioned that I was going to sit on a panel called Family Matters at MathFest sponsored by the Association for Women in Mathematics. It was to focus on balancing work and family. I was nervous about it, but it turned out to be a great experience. My fellow panelists and the audience members asking questions were terrific. And I learned a lot.
The AWM has posted some photos of all the AWM events at MathFest including these from my panel:
Pictured above (left to right): Jennifer Quinn (University of Washington Tacoma), the moderator Maura Mast (University of Massachsetts Boston), Beth Schaubroeck (US Air Force Academy), Naiomi Cameron (Lewis and Clark College), and me.
Dave, were you the only male there?
I was the only man on the panel. Since it was sponsored by the Association for Women in Mathematics, most of the people in the audience were women. But not all were.
