Great article -- I may adopt this style for all my writing.  Seriously, it is a refreshingly clear description of a discipline specific genre. It would be interesting to compare it with other disciplines along the dimensions you mention -- voice, citation style, acceptable kinds of evidence, etc.  Great work.
